Nosocomial Infection

Nosocomial Infection is known as hospital acquired infection where the infection causes only in the hospitals or in the healthcare centres. These types of infection can spread through the patients who visit the place or through the working staffs at the hospitals or through the equipment such as hospital instruments etc., Sometimes this can be caused though the patient’s own skin were the infection spread after the surgery. These kinds of spreading can be overcome by proper sterilization and sanitation of the equipment in the hospital area.

Session on: Epidemiology

A study of distribution of disease among the population is known as epidemiology. This generally helps in the study of the entire evidence-based study and helps to the know the risk factor of the diseases. This study has a special techniques of data collection in terms of a subject. More often this can be done on a study sample of a selected sample of population. The terms such as mortality rate incidence and prevalence rate are mostly used in the case of epidemiology. This condition is mostly seen in the developing and under developed countries when compared to the developed countries due to lack of hygiene and spread of diseases.

Session on: Parasitic infection

An infection or diseases that are caused by parasites. Parasitic infection can spread in number of ways and it is mainly through the contamination of water, food or by the environment where we live. This kind of disease-causing parasites can range from single cell to multi cell such as protozoa to worms. This kind of infection is caused generally in the tropical and subtropical region. Among this Malaria is considered as one of the deadliest parasitic diseases around the world.

Infection Control

A discipline that mainly concentrates in the prevention and control of diseases especially the nosocomial and healthcare associated diseases. The spread of disease is so high these days due to the invasive practice in the hospitals and the germs can spread through various mode such as patients, healthcare workers and by the visitors and household members. Because of this the act of controlling the diseases are the primary factor of any healthcare. Apart from this there are other two recommended practices such as standard precaution and transmission-based precaution.

Viral Infection

Viruses can cause infection that most of it are harmful to health. These are caused by infection of virus in invading the host. When an individual poses a healthy immune system, it can fight against the infection causing a prevention from serious health issue. On another note there are common infection caused by virus such as flu, chickenpox, rubella and cold. This infection spread varies from person to person. Treatment of this infection by antibiotics is generally useless while usage of antibiotics for a viral infection can cause only antibiotic resistance. As virus spread easily, vaccines are created to control most of the virus while some of the diseases through virus are still untreated.

Bacterial Diseases

A spread of disease by bacteria in general most common bacterial infection that are caused a diarrhoea. During the initial stage the cause and infection of diseases through bacteria was high, due to the sanitation, vaccination and discovery of antibiotics lowered the risk of mortality rate. Bacteria secrete or excrete toxins by producing the toxins internally and release that when inducing sensitivity to their antigenic property. The disease occurs when disease causing bacteria named pathogenic bacteria invade and release toxins inside the body that reproduce and suppress the healthy bacteria present inside causing damage to the body.

Host pathogen interaction

Host pathogen interaction are mediated by invading of microbial pathogens proteins that exploit the host cell for their survival. Pathogens poses the inherent ability to cross the anatomical barrier that limit the healthy microbes to make the normal flora. These interactions are the major selective acting on the human to contribute the shape of the genetic diversity. Microbial virulence is one of the dependents on host factors. This relationship of the pathogen is studied under three stages such as pre-penetration stage, penetration stage and post penetration stage.

Session on: Disease diagnosis and prevention

The main aim of the disease diagnosis is to prevent the major diseases and the premature death. pathogens cause disease causing organisms where most of the infection are caused by virus, bacteria, fungi and parasites. The diagnosis and treatment can be done by education towards the diseases, its cause and diagnostic methods and by proper vaccination. The major focus was done on the disease such as chronic diseases, emerging researches and in the preventive vaccination of various communicable diseases, and in the spread of diseases in the targeted area.

Session on: Antimicrobial Chemotherapy

Drugs are generally used in the treatment of infectious disease caused by microbes. This era of antimicrobial chemotherapy was discovered in the early 1099’s where the growth of this increased in an efficient way by the past years. The drugs used are generally acts in such a way by the selective toxicity, by the inhibition of the cell membrane and by the syntheses and function of the proteins. This clinical application where the resistance involves the reduced entry of drug and changes in the target of the drug. This metabolic inactivity of the drug is antimicrobial chemotherapy.

Session on: Antimicrobial Resistance

The ability of the microorganism to stop an antimicrobial from working against it as a result a normal treatment towards it will become ineffective and may prolong for a long time and may even spread among the people. The infection that are caused by the microbes for an antibiotic resistance germ are difficult and sometimes it also causes the disease uncured. The impact of the antibiotics resistance is generally undetermined. There are five major causes that demonstrates the antimicrobial resistance such as decreased cell permeability, active efflux, inactivation of antibiotic, modification of drug receptor and synthesis of metabolic pathway.

Session on: Fungal Infection

Fungal infections are common all around the world, where the fungi invade a part of the body which is difficult for the immune system to handle. These types of infection must be cured, and the precautions must be taken at the earliest to avoid serious illness. Most of the fungal diseases are not dangerous whereas some are harmful. The infection can be cured by the general doctor who prescribe a topical anti-fungal medication or oral drugs. Most of the skin infected fungal infections are cured with the prescribed creams.

Session on: Chronic Diseases

Chronic diseases are the disease referred to condition of long lasting and usually known as controlled but uncured. People who live with the chronic diseases generally live with the symptoms, as it may persist and reduce the life expectancy of the patient. These are distinguished to be acute and may recurrent repeatedly over the period in between. These are seen more common with age Early diagnosis and prevention is important in chronic diseases. Diabetics, Arthritis are some of the chronic diseases that are commonly found these days.

A branch in microbiology that deals with the study of microbes that cause infectious diseases, its diagnostics method, prevention and cure of the disease. These days advancement in the medical practices have increased the disease diagnosis accurate and some also helps in the prevention of disease rather than curing. Pharmaceutical microbiology involves other subdivisions such as drug safety, disinfection, drug manufacturing, pharma kinetics, pharmacodynamics etc

Body’s normal reaction and response over the injury is known as inflammation. Immune cells go to the target i.e. on the injured site to create an inflammation. This is also known as the body’s protective response against an injury. Immune systems include the cell such as lymphocytes, antibodies secrete b cells, monocytes and basophils that helps on inflammation. A multicellular organism that shows an adequate defence mechanism against the diseases and infection to avoid autoimmune diseases. This involves both specific and non-specific components. Vaccines are used in order to introduce an antigen to form a specific immunity against the disease.

Veterinary Microbiology

The microbes that are responsible for causing infectious diseases in animals and the response of their immune system towards the same. This is basically concerned with the effects that are caused in the domestic animals. This has the close link with the other interdisciplinary of microbiology such as pathology, medicine, pharmacology and surgery. This involves developments of drugs, vaccines and other animal health products.

Vaccines is an organic built that protects from a specific contamination or infection in our body. This resembles an agent from a disease-causing organism that are mostly made of a killed form of microbes. These are administrated towards the antigenic material that stimulates the immune system of an individual against a pathogen. Immunotherapy is a biological therapy that inhibits the body defence system to fight against the cancer cell. This may either stop or suppress the growth of the cancer cells

Today's cityscape is characterized by the abundance of baroque buildings which are mostly under the rules of Maria theresia and emperor Franz Joseph who are mainly responsible for the monumental architecture. Vienna is very famous for its architecture, cultural events, coffee houses, cosy wine taverns and a very special Viennese charm. The city also plays an important role in education system as it is the headquarters for many of the research institutes.

The 3rd International Conference on Medical Microbiology was organized at Mercure Hotel Frankfurt city centre, Germany on October 25-26,2018.

The event started with an opening ceremony video followed by keynote talks and sessions. This event gathered eminent speakers from various organizations, universities, media partners and delegates by making Medical Microbiology 2018 a grand successful event.
