Tummalapalli Venkateswara Rao is Doctorate in Medicine has expertise in teaching, Medicine, Microbiology and Infectious diseases in Medical schools and Medical Universities in India and abroad is an emeritus professor and former HOD, Department of Microbiology in Travancore Medical College, Kerala, India. Associated with Infectious Diseases division with Mansa General Hospitals Mansa Zambia ( 1978 to 1981) academic work included Schistosomiasis and Malaria He completed his MBBS in the year of 1973, from J N Medical College Belgaum India post graduate diploma in management of cerebral palsy at the spastic society of India, Bombay, and MD (Microbiology) from Andhra Medical college Visakhapatnam India In the recent past from 2007 on-wards taken the initiative to digitalize many of the issues/ complex problems related to Microbiology and Infectious diseases and programs are identified as teaching material through e-learning resources on the knowledge base on Infectious diseases by many Universities in world, Active educator on Infection control matters educating Doctors Nurses paramedical professional and enjoy the support of millions of viewers who use those to train and practice to control Infectious Diseases. Recently appointed as as consultant and Clinical Microbiologist and chairperson of Institutional Ethical committees of Medical, Dental Yoga and Nursing schools in India, At present working with a Mission to bring in basic principles with educative materials to control and prevention of Infectious diseases knowledge base to many developing and developed countries with a e-knowledge resources
His Research work is Associated with HIV/AIDS screening and research. He was trained at Institute of Immuno Haematology at Indian Council of Medical Research, Bombay on HLA Typing for establishing HLA Laboratory for benefit of the patient undergoing renal and bone marrow Transplantation.
