Biography :

Giulio Tarro graduated from Medicine School, Naples University (1962), Italy. Research Associate, Division of Virology and Cancer Research, Children’s Hospital (1965-1968), Assistant Professor of Research Pediatrics, College Medicine (1968-1969), Cincinnati University, Ohio. Oncological Virology Professor, Naples University (1972-1985). Chief Division Virology (1973-2003), Head Department Diagnostic Laboratories, (2003-2006). D. Cotugno Hospital for Infectious Diseases, Naples; Emeritus (2006). Since 2007 Chairman Committee of Biotechnologies and VirusSphere, World Academy Biomedical Technologies, UNESCO, Adjunct Professor Department Biology, Temple University, College of Science and Technology, Philadelphia, recipient of the Sbarro Health Research Organization lifetime achievement award (2010). President, Foundation de Beaumont Bonelli for Cancer Research. His basic researches have been concerned with antigens induced early during the replication cycle of human herpesviruses. Another study has involved the identification, isolation and characterization of specific virus-induced tumour antigens, which were the "finger-prints" left behind in human cancer. Achievements include patents in field; discovery of Respiratory Syncytial Virus in infant deaths in Naples and of tumor liberated protein as a tumor associated antigen, 55 kilodalton protein overexpressed in lung tumors and other epithelial adenocarcinomas.

Neveen is a microbiologist with a love of bacteria and tinkering. She was a graduate student in Ain Shams University, and a postdoctoral fellow in Microbiology in National Organization for Drug Control and Research. She was visiting scholar in Nanotechnology, Chemistry Department in Massachusetts, Amherst (UMAS) University. She published more than 20 papers in reputed journals, Neveen is originally from Giza, Pyramids, Egypt.

Francisco Javier Toledo Marante obtained his BSc degree in 1979 from the University of La Laguna (Spain) in Chemical Sciences with an Outstanding Graduate Award. In 1983 he recieved his PhD degree in Organic Chemistry. In 1986 he won a position as Professor of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain).

Prof. Sanjay Singh Negi is a qualified Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary, Liver Transplant, Laparoscopic, and G.I Onco-surgeon who has Indian, European and American Board qualifications. He obtained MCh degree in Gastro-Intestinal Surgery from GB Pant Hospital, University of Delhi and further underwent advanced training in Hepato-Biliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at centres of excellence like Asan Medical Centre, Seoul and Florence Nightingale Hospital, Istanbul. He has over two decades of experience in the field while working at premier institutes like GB Pant Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences as a faculty, managing Gastrointestinal and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary diseases. He is an accomplished Liver Transplant surgeon who has been involved in over700 liver transplantation procedures with results at par with the very best centres in the world. Over 20% of these transplants have been performed in pediatric and acute liver failure patients. At Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (New Delhi), where he worked as Additional Professor, he had the unique distinction of being the pioneer of establishing successful liver transplant programme in the public sector in India as well as initiating the first and only fellowship course in HPB Surgery towards the award of MCh degree duly accredited by Medical Council of India.

Research Interest :

He has over 60 publications in international journals of repute and various textbooks and is an authority in the management of Gall Bladder Cancer, Biliary Strictures, Pancreatitis and Liver Diseases. His work is well acknowledged in international community as shown by his active participation in various meetingsand nomination as member of the editorial board and reviewer of reputed journals. In recognition of his contribution to the field of Transplantation Surgery, he has been awarded Honorary Diploma in Transplantation Surgery by the European Board of Surgery in collaboration with the European Society of Organ Transplantation. He has also been awarded Honorary Diploma in HPB Surgery in recognition of his contribution to the field of HPB Surgery by the European Board of Surgery in collaboration with the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.In this regards, he is the first Indian to be conferred such honorary awards.Recently he has been awarded Fellowship of American College of Surgeons.

Ananda Mohan Chakrabarty is a distinguished University Professor at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Chicago. His research interest involves development of promiscuous bacterial protein/peptide drugs with anticancer, anti-viral and anti-parasitic activities. He is the Co-Founder of two startup companies, CDG Therapeutics Inc., in Chicago and Amrita Therapeutics in India.

Research Interest :

Dr. Chakrabarty has emphasized for patent oriented research and marketable product development through biotechnological processes. He also suggested that each Research & Development organization should have a patent cell and establish contacts with industries to produce the useful and marketable product developed by the organization. Recently Dr. Chakrabarty has isolated and identified a bacterial protein ‘Alzurin’, which is claimed to be potent inhibitor of various cancers, HIV and malarial diseases. He named the protein as ‘Drug of the Future’.
