Molecular Diagnostics refers to the tests that are used to identify a disease or predisposition to a disease in an individual. The diagnostic tests involve the identification of DNA, RNA or proteins of the humans or microbes that are responsible for the infections. The specific sequences in DNA or RNA that is associated with the disease including SNP, deletions, insertions, and rearrangements are detected by the diagnostic tests which enable the development of specific drugs to that specific disease. Developments in genetic analysis tools for molecular diagnostics are modernizing the practice of medicine, improving prenatal and reproductive care enabling earlier disease detection. Many ongoing types of research in finding a new DNA strain that can be used to diagnose all disease in the early stages.
